David Brand never believed in the devil, even when the prince of evil came knocking at his door. At first David thought it was Halloween, seeing a red faced man with two small horns standing out there, but he quickly realized it was only August, nowhere near the end of October. Then he thought it was some sort of gimmick, a stunt by a few crazy bible thumpers. This didn’t seem right either, there was no bible in his hands and he didn’t say a word about Jesus. In fact the devil didn’t say anything at all, he just stood there smiling.
Finally David asked, “why are you staring at me?”
The devil replied, “I’m just admiring my property.”
“I never sold my soul to you, heck I don’t even believe in souls.”
The devil shook his head in disbelief, but was still smiling. “O.K. then, would you sign over your soul that you don’t believe in for a million dollars.”
“Sure.” David said now feeling a little guilty for taking advantage of some nutcase.
Then the devil produced a contract which David signed, and to his sudden amazement, a million dollars appeared before him. David now felt fear, thinking this may be real. Next the devil produced a gun and killed David. The dark one didn’t like to wait for his acquisition. He looked down at David and said, “disbelievers are too easy.”
