Sara didn’t know what to do next. The creature was pounding at the bedroom door nearly cracking the door frame. It hissed and growled, making inhuman sounds, clearly hungry for her. Panicked, she wandered through the room trapped. There was only a closet door, and a barred window, nowhere to run or hide. The door began to bow from the strength of the creature, and Sara felt a scream building in her throat. She knew she would soon be dead, killed horribly by an unseen monster. It had followed her home that night, death tracking her.
Sara was so lost in terror it took her a few minutes to realize that the pounding had suddenly stopped. Wheezing, she barely caught her breath as she felt that she might actually survive this. Then she almost jumped as she heard someone politely knocking on the door. Cautiously Sara opened the door, and saw a handsome gentleman standing in the hallway.
“It’s alright miss, the monster is gone, and I apologize for the mess it made.” The man said.
Sara just looked at the man, confused.
“It was hungry and not polite at all. I think a person should ask for a meal, not take one. So may I ask you for supper?”
“Sure?” Sara replied unsure.
“Thank you ma’am,” the man said as his smile widened and turned into the gaping maw of a monster. Then it ate her.
